Tom and I met during our sophomore year of high school at La Salle Academy in 1997 when we were in English class together with Brother Paul. We had our first date more than a year later at our Junior Prom on May 6, 1999. Although we would like say it was love at first sight, it wasn't until Senior Prom in May of 2000 that our relationship began to unfold. We graduated from La Salle on June 10, 2000, and it was on to college at URI. We had four wonderful college years, and graduated in May 2004. After college, we got "real" jobs. I am a Clinical Lab Scientist at URI and Tom is a teacher at La Salle. In November 2005, Tom bought his childhood home, which we renovated right away. On September 15, 2006, we got engaged and so here we are today getting ready for our wedding day!
We decided to plan our wedding for July 14, 2007, which is also the day before Tom's birthday! We chose this day because it is a little after La Salle's school year ends, but long enough before the new school year so that we can enjoy our honeymoon and still have time to prepare for it. Father Kenney, from La Salle Academy kindly helped us to find a church where we would be welcomed even though we had never been there before. Father Codega welcomed us with open arms.
At the reception, we will be having cocktails and appetizers, followed by a buffet-style dinner and dessert. After dinner, bring your dancing shoes as we make our way to the dance floor, where the DJ will keep us dancing all night long! Our goal is to make this fun, relaxing, and generally enjoyable, as you join us to celebrate our event. Hope you enjoy the evening!
Since neither of us has ever left the country (well, Tom's been to Canada, does that count?) we decided we definitely wanted to make that part of our honeymoon experience. What better way to do it than Jamaica? We will be staying 11 nights at an all-inclusive Sandals Resort-the Grande Ocho Rios. We want to thank you so much for your contributions; we genuinely wouldn't be able to do it without you. We love you and thank you all!
